ASOFAN ROAD: A STORY OF PERSISTENCE AND LEADERSHIP

The Asofan Road has finally received some much-needed attention, thanks to the leadership of the current Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Akwetey Agbo. The road, which has been a long-standing issue, has been coated with 1.5 kilometers👍.

The history of this road dates back to 2016 when then NDC parliamentary candidate, Maame Efuah Sekyi Aidoo and then MCE Hon.Sam Atuquaye Quaye’s Ga west,the Assembly member Dorise Agyare Frimpong, cut the sod for its construction. However, the project was left unfinished when the NDC lost power that same year.The mp was Hon.Hon.Moses Anim

In 2017, the NPP took over and included the road project in their plans. The MP at the time fought for the constituency to be separated from Ga West, and in 2018, Trobu was given municipal status as Ga North.

Despite previous attempts to construct the road, including a failed contract awarded to Nana Kyei Barfuor!!!

the current MCE, Hon. Akwetey Agbo, has vowed to complete the project. Having coated half of the road, he plans to add another layer to complete the entire project.

The people of Trobu appreciate the efforts of Hon. Akwetey Agbo and his team for showing good leadership and a commitment to improving the infrastructure of the municipality.

The project aims to provide a smoother, safer road that will reduce travel time, limit dust during the dry season, and prevent flooding and potholes during the rains.

When completed, the new road will make it easier for residents, traders, and commuters to move between Asofa and Amamorley. It will also support local businesses by improving access for vehicles and pedestrians. Although the construction process may cause temporary inconvenience, the long-term benefits—better connectivity, increased safety, and economic growth—make it a worthwhile development for the area.
