Dj Spiceman, a gifted musician and artist

 

Paul Taffe/DJ Spiceman Born in the parish of St Ann Clover Hill, Dj Spiceman got his inspiration from Bob Marley, Sugar Minott, Burning Spear, Peter Tosh just to name a few…he would often listen to these artists on his small home stereo.
Whilst attending school Paul found he had a knack for rhyming and started putting lyrics on tracks, he even started using his lunch money to put in a jukebox at a local community bar, so that he could hear the version/flipside of certain riddims .
After mastering his craft Dj Spiceman started singing on sound systems in St Ann in Jamaica, around this time Dj Spiceman was recruited in the Army.

Whilst serving in the Army Dj Spiceman used to go about his business, and on occasions just chill out and sing, one day he was overheard by a sergeant, and the man was very impressed with what he had heard, inspired by this Dj Spiceman immediately started rehearsing and voicing at The ‘Late Great Sugar Minotts Studio’ in Kingston Jamaica, where they run a Youth Promotions Organisation called ‘Black Roots’ which is a teaching ground and platform to help and assist the musical youths of Jamaica.

This is where he penned and sang his first song which was titled ‘Miss Elegant’ on the Youthman Promotion/Black Roots Label.
He also recorded a song titled ‘Nice, Fresh & Sexy’ with another Artist known as Chicken, for the Trinidad based ‘Herbal Production’.
Dj Spiceman also sang the song ‘unity’ for the same label, with another Artist called ‘Kross’ Fyah.
In the early 2000,s he had his first Hit on the Youthman Promotions label, which went really well called ‘Cutting Razor’ that chartered in Germany.
There after, Dj Spiceman became a regular performer and has helped rock Sugar Minott,s annual show called ‘Reggae in the Hills’ which showcases some of the best and hottest Artists in the country.
Dj Spiceman has sang at many events, and continues to do so, this fast growing Artist has talent to shine!

His conpleted projects include but not limited to tracks such as ‘Poorman Cry’ on the Tripple Seven Riddim, ’Cant Take Rasta For Bait’ on the ‘Rough Channel Production, and ‘No More Troubles’ featuring Reggae Artist ‘Jah Niceness’.
The Dj,s stocks keep rising with endeavors including a Carl Melody Production titled “AT-U” riddim featuring “Mood for Love” remix, which gained major radio plays along with track titled “Virtuous” also on the AT-U Riddim. The track “Guide & King” on the A1 Ras label also gained major attention within the year 2021.

The artist wasted no time in 2022 to release singles titled “Roll Away” on Open Doors record label and “The people” on the MMB Records label.
The Dj is looking forward to a great 2023 with tracks titled “ Rolling River” on Laing Record label, “Revolution” on the Open Doors Record label and “Ghetto Side “ on the MMB Record label already released.
Dj Spiceman is on the rise with many more projects in the pipeline to be released.! So Watch out!
