The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the Ga North Municipality, Hon. Akwetey Agbo, has officially cut sod to mark the commencement of construction works on a 3-unit classroom block at Abese St Joesph JHS, reaffirming his administration’s strong commitment to educational development.

Speaking at a press briefing during the sod-cutting ceremony, Hon. Agbo emphasized that education remains the foundation for personal growth, community development, and national progress. He described education as a lasting legacy that must be protected and strengthened, stressing that no meaningful development can take place without deliberate investment in quality education. According to him, improving educational infrastructure across the municipality remains a top priority of his administration.

The MCE assured residents that his office will continue to roll out initiatives aimed at enhancing teaching and learning conditions in public schools. He urged traditional authorities, opinion leaders, and community members to remain vigilant and promptly bring to his attention any challenges confronting government schools, including infrastructure deficits, furniture shortages, or other pressing needs, so that swift interventions can be made.

Hon. Agbo expressed his appreciation to the chiefs, elders, and people of Abese for their cooperation and support toward the project. He called on community leaders to take ownership of the project by monitoring its progress from inception to completion, emphasizing that community involvement is crucial to ensuring the quality, sustainability, and long-term use of the facility.

He further assured the Abese community of his open-door policy, reiterating his readiness to listen, engage, and respond to the concerns of residents at all times. “My administration is committed to serving the people, and I will continue to work closely with communities to address their needs,” he stated.

The construction of the 3-unit classroom block is expected to ease congestion, improve the learning environment, and enhance academic outcomes for pupils in the area. This initiative highlights Hon.
