HON. Akwetey Agbo (MCE) GRACES THE YOUTH APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAMME (YAP) ACCRA GRADUATION CEREMONY HOSTED BY Sinapi Aba Trust

The Ga North Municipal Assembly graced the Sinapi Aba Trust graduation ceremony on Thursday 12th February 2026 at Mile 7 AstroTurf Accra, for beneficiaries of its Youth Apprenticeship Programme. The programme is a three-year training initiative that equips vulnerable and unemployed youth with vocational and entrepreneurial skills and business knowledge at no cost.

A total of 247 beneficiaries from Ablekuma, Amasaman, Lapaz, Nsawam, Medie, Doboro and other surrounding communities successfully completed training in trades such as hairdressing, dressmaking, auto mechanics, auto electrical, general electrical catering and tiling.

The programme focuses on equipping youth with valuable technical skills and practical experience in their chosen trades. It also promotes entrepreneurship business management financial discipline and customer care.

The Municipal Chief Executive urged all artisans to remove the spirit of fear and be confident in their skills. He encouraged them to make good use of social media to broaden their market reach advertise their services and attract more customers.

Rev Ishmael Kofi Wallace of Christian Life Center Church Lapaz encouraged the graduates to remain faithful and committed in their work. He quoted Proverbs 28 verse 20 which speaks about faithfulness bringing blessings. He also referenced Proverbs 13 verse 2 and urged them to use positive words and treat customers well since good communication contributes to business growth.

Representatives from Sinapi Aba Trust and partnering financial institutions advised the graduates to develop a strong savings culture. They encouraged them to open and maintain bank accounts manage their income wisely separate personal and business finances and reinvest profits into their enterprises for sustainability.

The graduates were also reminded to continue learning improve their skills adapt to new technologies and maintain high standards in their work to remain competitive in the market.

The graduation marks an important achievement for the apprentices and the Accra cluster. The programme continues to reduce unemployment empower youth promote entrepreneurship and contribute to local economic development. Beneficiaries were encouraged to apply the skills knowledge values and business principles acquired to build successful and sustainable enterprises.
