The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the Ga North Municipal Assembly, Hon. Akwetey Agbo, has reaffirmed his administration’s strong commitment to improving healthcare delivery across the municipality. This was demonstrated on February 2nd when he paid a working visit to the Amanfrom Hospital to assess the state of healthcare infrastructure and engage with management and staff on key challenges affecting service delivery.

The visit formed part of the MCE’s broader agenda to prioritize health promotion, disease prevention, and access to quality medical care for residents of Ga North. During his interaction with hospital authorities, Hon. Akwetey Agbo underscored the critical role of healthcare in socio-economic development, noting that a healthy population is essential for productivity and sustainable growth.
Following the assessment, the MCE outlined several strategic interventions aimed at addressing the pressing needs of the facility. These include the construction of a Reproductive Child Health (RCH) unit to enhance maternal, neonatal, and child health services, particularly for women and children in the municipality. He also pledged to ensure the provision of treated water to improve sanitation and create a safer, more hygienic environment for patients and healthcare workers.

In addition, Hon. Akwetey Agbo committed to the completion of the ongoing structure and container at the facility to expand space and improve service delivery. To strengthen infection prevention and control, he further announced plans to establish an incinerator and a placenta pit to enhance medical waste management and promote environmental safety.
The MCE emphasized that healthcare remains a top priority for the Ga North Municipal Assembly and assured the administration and management of the Amanfrom Health Care Center of his continuous support. He reiterated his administration’s readiness to collaborate with health professionals and relevant stakeholders to address challenges facing healthcare facilities within the municipality.

Hon. Akwetey Agbo also commended the healthcare workers for their dedication and professionalism, encouraging them to continue providing compassionate and quality care to patients. While acknowledging their efforts, he noted that improved infrastructure and resources would further empower them to deliver even better services.
