Greater Accra Regional Minister Inspects Sanitation Works in Ga North Municipality
The Greater Accra Regional Minister, Hon. Linda Akweley Ocloo, paid a working visit to the Ga North Municipality, specifically Pokuase, to inspect ongoing sanitation works being undertaken by the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Awetey Agbo. The visit formed part of the Regional Minister’s commitment to ensuring that sanitation projects across the region are executed effectively and in line with government standards.

During the visit, Hon. Linda Akweley Ocloo toured key sanitation sites within the municipality to assess the progress and quality of work being carried out. She interacted with municipal officials, sanitation workers, and community members to gain firsthand information on the challenges and successes of the ongoing initiatives. The inspection focused on drainage desilting, waste management activities, and general environmental cleanliness aimed at improving public health and enhancing the overall appearance of the municipality.
Hon. Awetey Agbo briefed the Regional Minister on the municipality’s sanitation strategy, highlighting efforts being made to keep Ga North clean, particularly in high-traffic areas such as Pokuase. He emphasized the importance of collaboration between the municipal assembly, sanitation service providers, and residents in achieving sustainable cleanliness. According to the MCE, sanitation remains a top priority, as it directly impacts the health, safety, and wellbeing of the people.

The Regional Minister expressed satisfaction with the level of work done so far but urged the municipal authorities to intensify monitoring and supervision to ensure value for money. She stressed that sanitation is a shared responsibility and called on residents to support the assembly by maintaining clean surroundings and adhering to proper waste disposal practices.
Hon. Linda Akweley Ocloo reiterated the government’s commitment to promoting a clean and healthy environment across the Greater Accra Region. She noted that such visits are essential for visibility, accountability, and ensuring that sanitation interventions deliver the intended results for the benefit of the public.
