To improve security, GA North MCE donates motorcycles to police commanders.
In an effort to bolster security and enhance police inside the municipality, the Ga North Municipality’s Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) Hon. Akwetey Agbo has given motorcycles to District Police Commanders. On Monday, December 30, 2025, a small ceremony was held at the Municipal Assembly premises to formally hand off the motorcycles.
Speaking at the ceremony, the MCE said that the donation is a part of his larger commitment to helping the Ghana Police Service provide the public with effective, efficient, and 24-hour security services. He clarified that the availability of motorbikes will greatly improve patrol operations and quick reaction to occurrences, as mobility continues to be a major concern for security forces, particularly in rapidly expanding and difficult-to-reach neighborhoods.
The MCE underlined that as peace and stability are necessary for progress, protecting people’s lives and property continues to be his administration’s primary priority. He pointed out that in addition to security, the Municipal Assembly is dedicated to enhancing other crucial areas including road infrastructure, flood control strategies, sanitation, and education, all of which are intended to raise the general standard of living for Ga North inhabitants.
He also urged the public to actively assist the police by swiftly reporting suspicious activity, security risks, and crime-related issues. He believes that sustaining law and order requires collaboration between security agencies and the community, and that good policing is a shared responsibility. In order to maximize their impact, the MCE also counseled the District Commanders to make sure the motorcycles are maintained correctly and used exclusively for their original purpose.
The Municipal Coordinating Director (MCD), the NADMO Director, and other department heads and employees of the Municipal Assembly were present at the presentation.
On behalf of the Ghana Police Service, the District Police Commanders thanked the MCE and the Municipal Assembly for their assistance. Residents were reassured that the motorcycles would be effectively utilized to enhance patrol coverage, reaction times, and measures to prevent crime throughout the Ga North Municipality.
The gesture demonstrates the MCE’s dedication to enhancing cooperation between security services and the Municipal Assembly in order to further sustainable development, safety, and peace.
